Unsaid love -1

Dearest B , Hope you are doing well. It really was a gift to me that you came into my life. Although I had a crush on you during the college times, it never progressed then. Later, when you came into my life with a marriage proposal, all I thought was, I needed a solid reason to get married to you. Since our tastes, our ideologies, our family backgrounds, our castes are different, I thought there is no way that we can share life based on a mere crush, although it was from both sides. The first few meetings with you were not to my liking. I tolerated you in those meetings. Later I don’t know how and when I started liking you. There came a day when I expressed my love for you even without preparing or at least giving a thought. Happy that I did it. After all the love, relationship thing, it was time when our parents had to be involved. I fought for us for over 2 years. You were on and off. All you say is, you want us to get married but you don’t say what you feel about me, what my ro...

Welfare state to Development state

Welfare state to Development state      India being a country with huge land mass and huge population, is a home to the majority of downtrodden people. It had been a welfare state ever since it got independence for there's nothing the Britishers have left us except for large chinks of poverty and illiteracy. Since then our leaders are trying their best to support people by providing basic needs, giving them subsidies, allotting them quotas in education and employment, hoping someday India would be done being a welfare state. But even after 75 years of independence, we are still in the same state. People are looking to the govern...

Desi propositions on going abroad

Image
HYHYHY! It's been really long. And I really miss this writing thing.😇 Anyways, what I am talking here today is, about this 'D esi propositions on going abroad. '🗽✈ (In the following sections, I will be referring abroad to USA most of the times, only to make it more relatable). And hey! abroad in Indian sense is mostly about going to THE AMERICA (majority sense I guess, no offence). 😋 So, what's wrong with 'going to America'? Actually, nothing I suppose. America is a great country, they have great system, the people there, are lovely, their currency is more worthy here. Their culture is open. It's home to many foreigners. It's  where talents are recognized... so on and so forth. So, there's nothing bad in going to America.  And like every beautiful rejection which ends with a 'but', this question had it's own reasons too. What all I talked about US in the above lines is true, at least to my knowledge. But that's not what really mat...

Chernobyl

Image
HYHYHY!!! Welcome back once again!  Today's blog is all about the biggest man made disaster, effects of which are evident till date. YES! Chernobyl it is. The Beirut's recent chemical disaster made me think about Chernobyl and it's aftermath. This information about Chernobyl is from Reader's Digest's special edition. I saw very few people explain the series of events that took place on the day of the disaster while many focused on the aftermath. Here's a little insight on the events that occurred just before the accident. What exactly happened: On the night of 25-26, April 1986, while shutting down the reactor for maintenance, a very over due test were being conducted to ascertain the capacity of the turbine's (which was nearing the end of life) power generation, in the event of a a power cut. And due to various reasons, the reactor was running at a low power (unstable). The reactor used here is RBMK-1000 which is very unstable in low power condition. This ...

HYHYHY!!!  I am doing great. Wishing the same for everyone. This week has been a little slow to me till now. Let's see what I can do.  So, here I am once again with my poem. I dunno how I am getting these thoughts, but I just believe nature is making me speak. And I hope, I am making sense! What do you think about a beautiful sunset? What do you feel when you are watching it? Is it same every time? Are your thoughts same every time? I would like to share one of  such thoughts, that crossed my mind on a beautiful sunset day.  And here it goes:                                                             I am afraid of your brightness I am afraid of your beauty I am afraid of your vastness I am afraid of the hope you give I am afraid of the life you promise . . . I am afraid that I will get lost... get lost in you! The abov...

HYHYHY!!! Welcome back! I was walking in the corridor, nothing like evening or morning walks, to be exact it was noon. I was looking at my garden, leaning on the gate and just left my thoughts to overtake me. I was humming this song "Ude khule aasman ke khwabonke parinde.." ( it is gem of a song, do listen if you didn't till now.), watching birds heading home for lunch. (well I think that's where they were going) Then suddenly this thought stuck me. And that's where this poem came from. And here it goes: I was there every single day, staring at you, beaming at you, dreaming about you... But never did I think of being there, with you, never did I think of exploring you, never did I think of conquering you. May be I am content, seeing you, may be I am happy, having you, Or may be I don't want to think about it at all! Should I have to think, when I can feel? I was looking at that sky every single day. I saw him furious during summer, gloomy during winters, roma...

THE ENGLISH PATIENT

Image
HYHYHY!!! Welcome to my blog once again! ABOUT THE BOOK: Today I am going to start my book reviews on this very blog. And for the first review, I picked one of my favourite books, THE ENGLISH PATIENT. It was written by Michael Ondaatje. This book was first published in 1992. In the same year, it was nominated for the Booker prize and eventually bagged it. Later again in 2018, it was nominated for the Golden Man Booker prize and once again, there's no seeing back.  ABOUT THE STORYLINE: The English Patient is a story that is set in the backdrop of the world war-II. And most of the story surrounds an abandoned Italian villa. When war circumstances urges everyone to relocate to the safer places, a Canadian nurse, Hana decides to stay back in the villa turned hospital, along with the English patient(supposed to be English by his voice), who had very less chances of survival with his brutal burns. Hana knows nothing about the English patient and yet she decides to stay with him out of...
